What is Pixxles?

What is a ‘payment processor’?

A payment processor is a firm that settles transactions on behalf of a merchant by transmitting data between the customer, merchant, issuing bank and acquiring bank. If you want to accept payments, you will need to partner with a processor.

What is an ‘acquiring bank’?

An acquiring bank, sometimes simply referred to as an ‘acquirer’, is a financial institution that processes scheme branded credit and debit cards on behalf of a merchant.

Does Pixxles process for high risk merchants?

We can work with high risk merchants. We apply a risk-based approach in assessing our merchant applications and will process for any business that sit within our risk appetite. Please contact our Support Team for more information.

Do you support merchants that deliver goods via dropshipping?

Yes, we can provide merchant accounts for merchants that deliver goods via dropshipping.

Do you support online dating services?

Yes, we do support merchant accounts for online dating services.

Is Pixxles authorised?

Pixxles is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) as an Authorised E-Money Institution under reference number 927960.

What is GDPR?

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a regulation in the European Union (EU) and European Economic Area (EEA) regarding data protection and privacy. It also addresses the transfer of personal data outside the EU and EEA areas.

What is a billing descriptor?

A billing descriptor is the identifier on a customer’s financial statement that identifies the merchant responsible for a transaction.

How will Pixxles transactions appear on a financial statement?

Your Pixxles billing descriptor consists of your website or company name and your phone number, with a maximum length of 25 characters. The billing descriptor we generate for you will be as close to your website name as possible to ensure your customers recognise the transaction on their bank statement, reducing the risk of a chargeback.

What is PCI DSS compliance?

Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliance refers to the technical and operational standards that businesses must adhere to in order to ensure that the data provided by cardholders is protected.

What is a CVV number?

A Card Verification Value (CVV) number is the 3 or 4 digit number on the signature strip of a credit or debit card used to verify that you have access to physical or virtual card, thereby reducing the likelihood of fraud. CVV2 numbers are a 2nd generation process that makes the number harder to guess.

Do I need a currency converter on my website if accepting multiple currencies?

Yes. By using a currency converter on your website to ensure you are settling in the currency of the issuing bank, you significantly increase the likelihood of the transaction being accepted.

Can Pixxles support recurring payments?

Yes, Pixxles can support recurring payments.

Can I transfer existing recurring payments to Pixxles from another processor?

Absolutely. The Pixxles Integration Team can help you do so during the integration process.

Does my website need to be SSL secure?

Yes, your website needs to be SSL secure to use Pixxles as it’s required to accept payment information.

Can Pixxles provide a virtual terminal?

We can provide a virtual terminal so you may process manual payments online.

As an Open Banking Third Party Provider (TPP), how do I access Pixxles accounts?

If you are a Third Party Provider (TPP) wishing to register for Open Banking access, to Pixxles Ltd., please contact [email protected]

What are the fees to process with Pixxles?

Pixxles assesses each business on a per case basis to ensure that the pricing is tailored to the provided business model. Contact our Sales Team for more information.
